This is a cool list, with several I haven't seen, though I think I might quibble with the idea of calling Gone With The Wind a cult film. Isn't it like the most main stream movie of all time? Also, same goes for Some Like It Hot. I think if I were to pick a Wilder film to be a cult flick it would have been Ace in The Hole. Although you certainly can't argue Eating Raoul isn't a cult film nevertheless I would, in my ideal list, have it as either Eraserhead or Europa; Sisters would be in the S category, and Targets the T, with Dementia 13 in the D. Holy Mountain, though not a fave of mine is, maybe along with Night of the Living Dead and Rocky Horror, clearly the quintessence of cultiness. Oh and I would definitely have Brazil for my B. But I shall get on some of these flicks like The Apple I haven't seen or even heard of.

The true definition of a cult film is not what you might think it is, joe joe. A cult film doesn't necessarily have to display a radical point of view or a weird sensibility. A cult film is merely a film that is watched, over and over again, by a rabid set of fans (hense a cult). It's just that simple. Being in or out of the mainstream has nothing to do with it. THE WIZARD OF OZ is a cult film, too, by the way.
